Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety and Health Presented

Standard Maintenance Company, LLC of Memphis Receives Award

NASHVILLE – Labor & Workforce Development Deputy Commissioner Bob Henningsen recently announced Standard Maintenance Company, LLC, in Memphis was selected to receive the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety and Health.  Henningsen presented the award at the 26th annual Tennessee Safety and Health Congress and Exposition held at the Opryland Convention Center in Nashville.

“The evaluation criteria for the Governor’s Award are demanding,” said Henningsen.  “Achieving the required level of safety shows Standard Maintenance is strongly committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.  It’s a tribute to the company that its employees work to sustain such a notable safety record.”

The Governor’s Award of Excellence for Workplace Safety and Health is given to Tennessee employers who meet the required number of hours during a calendar year without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work or restrict his normal job activities.  The number of hours required is based on the size of the company.

Standard Maintenance also received the Governor’s Award in 2001.  The company is involved in general contracting, employing 37.
