SECTION 11

 

SITE SANITATION

 

1.        Purpose

 

To outline a minimal criteria for maintaining sanitary conditions on the construction site.

 

2.        Potable Water

 

There shall be an adequate supply of drinking water available on each project.  Portable containers used for drinking water shall have a tight securing lid, and be equipped with a tap.  These containers shall be washed out a minimum of once a week using a scrub brush and baking soda.  The brush shall not be used for any other purpose.

 

The container shall be clearly marked as to the nature of its contents and not used for any other purpose. Containers that have been on a job site for more than one (1) year will be replaced and the old container destroyed.  The container shall be marked with the date it was put in service.

 

Single serve cups shall be stored in the cup dispenser mounted on the side of the container.  A lid shall be in place on the cup dispenser at all time.  A receptacle shall be placed with each container for proper disposal of used cups.

 

Adequate washing facilities shall be provided and maintained in a sanitary condition near the work site.  It shall be equipped with hot and cold running water, or tepid water.  Hand soap or cleaner, as well as towels, shall be provided.  A receptacle shall be placed at the washing facilities for proper disposal of towels.

 

3.        Break Facilities

 

A break area shall be provided and equipped with receptacles for disposal of trash and garbage.

 

4.        Portable Toilets

 

Toilets shall be provided for employees in accordance with the following:

20 or less                            1

20 or more                          2 per every 40 employees

200 or more                         2 per every 50 employees
